Rules can be created to apply one standard condition to multiple listings. For example, if multiple listings of the same brand were not imported with the brand name attached to the listing, you can create a rule to assign a brand name to those listings. Rules can be created for a multitude of categories, and the rule function will allow our automated process to speed up listing across multiple channels. There are different types of rules, and we will provide a few different examples to show you how to successfully set up rules.
Brand Rule
- To begin, you will go to Listings > Listing Rules
- Select Create New Rule
- Here you will set your rule up. There is a breakdown of each line below.
- The title will be what you want your rule to be labeled. Because this rule is a brand, the brand name will be the title.
- The Integration Config will be what channel you want the rule run on. If you want the rule to be run on all channels, you will need to create the rule for each channel you have.
- The filter type dictates when we should apply this rule.
- This is the field that we filter on. For example, if the field (title) contains the brand, this rule creates the brand.
- Filter value, in this case, is the name of the brand. This field requires all lowercase letters.
- Rule action is what the rule is supposed to do.
- Field Name is the field (category) we are targeting.
- Field Value is the value we are creating the rule for (name of the specific brand).
- Once each field is complete, you will click Create New Rule.
- You will now find the rule under the channel you created it for. To activate, click Run.
Pricing Rule
- To make all SKUs different prices between channels, a pricing rule can be created. For example, if you need all of your listings on eBay to be $3 higher than Amazon, you can use the Pricing rule to do this. The price increase can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage. In this example, we will use the dollar amount.
- Title - What you want the rule titled.
- Integration Config - What channel the rule will run on. As a reminder, a new rule must be created per channel you want it applied to.
- Filter Type - The frequency in which the rule should be run.
- Rule Action - What the rule is doing.
- Field Name - The field we are targeting with the change.
- Field Value - The amount of the increase. The format needs to be dollars, period, cents (no special characters, the dollars and cents separated by a period).
- Once each field is complete, you will click Create New Rule.
- You will now find the rule under the channel you created it for. To activate, click Run Rule.
These are a few examples of types of rules that can be run. Please reach out to support if you have a question while creating a rule or if you would like to know if a particular rule can be created!
