What is Amazon's Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) program?
Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) provides low cost, reliable fulfillment for any of your ecommerce sales channels, as fast as 1-day. Read more from Amazon here.
How does Listing Mirror route orders when you have multiple Amazon FBA inventory sources?
First, you'll want to understand how to enable certain inventory sources for your sales on each channel. You can learn how to do that here.
Now you may be wondering how we will select which Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) inventory source we will route the order towards if you have multiple FBA inventory sources enabled. Listing Mirror will go down your prioritized list and once we hit a Fulfillment by Amazon source, we will then shop all enabled Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) sources to see which is the cheapest option that also gets the order to the customer by the promised date.
If you see an order that was shipped from a lower priority inventory source when quantity was available at another Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) warehouse, this is likely the reason. If you ever want confirmation on why an order was shipped from a certain inventory source, please reach out to our support team.
Let's see how we would route orders.
You get an order on eBay and have the following inventory sources set up to fulfill your eBay orders.
Example 1.
The order is for SKU ABC, which has the following inventory quantity levels.
1 qty- East Coast Warehouse
3 qty- FBA US (Fulfilled by Amazon)
9 qty- FBA CA (Fulfilled by Amazon)
7 qty- FBA US 2 (Fulfilled by Amazon)
2 qty- MF
Since you have quantity in your East Coast Warehouse, we would send the order to that warehouse for fulfillment.
Example 2.
Another order comes in for SKU ABC, which now has the following inventory quantity levels.
0 qty- East Coast Warehouse
3 qty- FBA US (Fulfilled by Amazon)
9 qty- FBA CA (Fulfilled by Amazon)
7 qty- FBA US 2 (Fulfilled by Amazon)
2 qty- MF
Since you have 0 quantity in your East Coast Warehouse, we will skip that warehouse and move on to FBA US (Fulfilled by Amazon). Since that choice is a Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) inventory source, we will not just send from that inventory source, but will instead go through your entire list of enabled Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) sources and find the cheapest option.
This order is from a customer in Canada. Our Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment shipping fee queries returns the following shipping costs.
$7.86- FBA US (Fulfilled by Amazon)
$5.35- FBA CA (Fulfilled by Amazon)
$8.97- FBA US 2 (Fulfilled by Amazon)
We will select the cheapest option and will send this order to be fulfilled by FBA CA (Fulfilled by Amazon).
Example 3.
The same scenario as Example 2, except none of the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) inventory sources can meet the promised delivery date of 2 days. In this case, we will fail to send from any of them and instead will route the order to Merchant Fulfilled (MF) so that you can tend to the order and verify that it is shipped in time.
